Personal design service that reflects your organisation and aspirations
We offer design and printing services for logos and branding, flyers, brochures, books, banners and interpretation boards, as well as website design and content.
We aim to make work enjoyable as well as effective, with a good reputation for customer service and paying attention to detail.
Much of our work is via personal recommendation. We have many local clients in Chesham, Amersham and across the Chilterns; and we also work with publishers in London and organisations based in the UK and EU for websites.
Amanda Carroll, Creative Director
Amanda Carroll works as project and hands-on creative manager. She has 30 years’ extensive experience in educational and international publishing and can support with the whole process from manuscript to publication, with skills in typography, layout, cover design, illustration and commissioning, production, and working with editors and authors. With Studio Beam she also works with small businesses, charities and not-for-profits, designing everything from logos to flyers to interpretation boards to websites.
Amanda has is also a trained and experienced TEFL teacher,and copy editor. She’ll often take on editing, copywriting and picture research and content creation as part of a project.
Robert Craig, Project and Technical Consultant
Rob’s specialities are online design and development, bespoke coding, troubleshooting and usability. Having studied originally as an illustrator he can still do a mean doodle too. This together with postgraduate studies in usability and a wealth of experience makes him a creative thinker and troubleshooter.
He’s also Head of Digital for an umbrella company running a hedge fund, natural resources companies, and a fairtrade online store.
Rob’s worked with dozens of large organisations and non-profits ranging from Legal & General and Channel 4 to Friends of the Earth .
A big thanks to Studio Beam who designed our logo back in 2010. Getting it right first time is the secret to a good logo. Brilliant work.
